Event description

Power to Pursue is so thrilled to offer Equip and Uplift, programming for female identifying individuals between the ages of 10 and 18. We are proud to partner with MDC Design, who is leading curriculum development for our young people, and we are grateful for our venue sponsor, UC's 1819 Innovation Hub. This groundbreaking event will focus on empowering young women through education, connection, and creativity.

Our mission is to establish and maintain safe spaces where young women can openly discuss topics that matter to them. Participants will engage in age-specific small group workshops and hear from a keynote speaker with the guidance and expertise of local female professionals doing this work.

We are fortunate to have Colleen Lehman leading a session on Relationships (Romantic/Friend/Family), Tiffany Graves leading a session on Body Awareness, and Kait Lott sharing information on the reality that is Social Media.

Colleen Lehman of @galiacollaborative is a Licensed Professional Counselor who will be leading a session on Relationships (Romantic/Friend/Family). She specializes in working with couples of all sexualities and genders seeking to improve communication, conflict management, emotional intimacy, and sexual intimacy. Colleen also works with individuals seeking support with general mental health, coping with relationship concerns, healing from shame-based messaging about sexuality, embracing one’s sexual self and identity, and managing sexual functioning concerns. Colleen provides counseling that is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Dr. Tiffany Graves of @galiacollaborative will be leading a session on Body Awareness. She is a clinical psychologist who gained extensive training and experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues disproportionately affecting women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Dr. Graves is an affirmative care provider and is specialized in the treatment of eating disorders and body image issues, interpersonal and sexual trauma, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, perfectionism, and mood and anxiety disorders. She enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and families.

Kait Lott of @Kaitskravings will be sharing information on the reality that is Social Media. Kait is a full time Content Creator after recently leaving her 10 year career in non-profit education. With an extensive background in education & college access work, Kait is passionate about young people, her community and highlighting Cincinnati through the food scene. From local events to foodie experiences, travel and lifestyle, Kait loves bridging the gap between the everyday and the “Instagrammable” while also having fun and remaining authentic.

Our young people are in for a treat with this powerful line-up.

Sign your pre-teen or teen up and help broaden the scope of empowerment, encompassing young women and girls, because waiting until you're an adult to access safe communities that support growth and healing cannot be the norm.
