Join us for a special film screening as part of the Isthmic Imaginaries program at RMIT University.
The evening features a screening of the acclaimed Salvadorian documentary Cachada: The Opportunity, directed by Marlén Viñayo. The film follows five Salvadorian women—street vendors and single mothers—who share their lived experiences into theatre, revealing the profound possibilities of storytelling, collective care, and healing through art. The program will also include Foreword In Memories (2020), a short film by Gerson J. Peña, offering another intimate reflection on memory and lived experience.
Presented as part of: Isthmic Imaginaries — an exhibition, symposium, and public program exploring memory, displacement, art, and isthmic ways of imagining across Central America and its diasporas.
