Event description

Come along to this interactive children's event where experienced children's educators from Little Sprouts will teach your kids about the wonderful world of pollinators.

During this activity, children will explore:

  • what pollination is
  • a range of important local pollinator animal species
  • why we need pollinators
  • how we can help pollinators

Children will play a flower pollination game and put learning into action by making seed balls. Once dry, they can be planted to help grow pollinator-friendly plants at home, or in the local area. Children must be supervised by a parent/ guardian.

This event is brought to you by the My Smart Garden program, which is a free educational gardening program that can help you to grow food, shelter your home from the sun and wind, create local habitats, reduce waste and use water wisely. Check out our website to access free events, articles, videos and a newsletter!

Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc. to swap and share!

Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.
