Powerhouse invites you to an exclusive talk and guided tour with exhibition curator and Adjunct Professor in the Religion and Society Research Cluster, WSU Pedram Khosronejad, moderated by Deputy Dean of School of Social Sciences, Professor Adam Possamai. They will explore cultural approaches to curating Charkha and Kargha and the challenges of engaging new audiences through the Powerhouse collection.
After the talk and tour we encourage you to stay for the Powerhouse Late: Charkha and Kargha. Coinciding with Diwali, it will be a celebration of Indian culture including arts, fashion, dance workshops, Indian textile weaving demonstrations and conversations, inspired by the museum’s current exhibition of Indian textiles, which takes its title from Charkha (spinning wheel) and Kargha (loom).

7.30pm - Presentation by textile artist, collector and academic Liz Williamson
5 – 9pm - Bollywood dance workshop with Australia’s top school
