About This Webinar
When something goes wrong at work, too many managers feel like they’re caught between doing nothing and launching a formal investigation. The reality? There’s a whole range of options in between, and this webinar is about giving you access to all of them.
Drawn from EEO Specialists’ Managing Workplace Behaviour workshop, this session is built around a simple but powerful premise: managers, supervisors and those in positions of authority have far more options available to them than they realise.
Using a workplace safety lens, (identify, assess, implement controls to eliminate or minimise), Leanne applies that same framework to how people treat each other at work. The focus is on the controls stage: what do those actually look like when the issue is about stopping unlawful and inappropriate behaviour?
Leanne will walk through 7 practical options spanning informal before getting to a formal process, so that when you’re faced with a workplace issue, you have a clear and confident framework to guide your response.
What You’ll Learn
➡ A Safety Framework Applied to People Issues
How the four-step framework (identify, assess, eliminate or minimise, control) maps onto managing workplace behaviour and how people treat each other.
➡ Options for Addressing Workplace Issues
A full range of informal through to formal responses, and how to choose the right one for the situation.
➡ When (and When Not) to Escalate
Understanding what each option is suited to, and what genuinely triggers the need for a formal process.
➡ A Manager’s role in addressing workplace issues
A useable framework all managers can apply to assist this in working out what to do to stop a behaviour from continuing.
Presenter
Leanne Dryburgh brings extensive experience across the public and private sectors as a highly skilled and intuitive facilitator, actor and professional role player. Through EEO Specialists' corporate theatre work and in room facilitation, Leanne has played out workplace scenarios with managers and leaders from every sector, the conversations people avoid, the ones that go sideways, and the ones that resolve a problem well before it needs a formal process. That gives her a rare, practical view of what early intervention actually looks and sounds like in the moment. With an empathetic and human-centred approach, Leanne is passionate about understanding and connecting with people, and is known for making the informal options feel achievable rather than daunting.
