PRACTICE 101: Arts Law

Join Arts Northern Rivers for a professional development workshop for creatives facilitated by Arts Law.

Thinking about contracts, copyright and licensing can be intimidating. This session will take you through the tricky legal issues that affect your practice so you can focus on making art. We’ll cover owning and using your copyright, licensing and knowing your moral rights. You’ll also learn about what makes a contract, how to use them and what to think about before you sign.

This session uses practical examples, case studies and hypotheticals to help make the law accessible and, dare we say, fun for creatives.

Arts Law is Australia’s independent national community legal centre for the arts, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. We provide free or low cost specialised legal advice, education and resources to Australian artists and arts organisations across all art forms, on a wide range of arts related legal and business matters.
