Practice 101: First Nations Arts Law
Event description
PRACTICE 101: First Nations Arts LawÂ
Join Arts Northern Rivers for a professional development workshop for First Nations creatives facilitated by Arts Law and Artists in the Black.
First Nations artists, creators and cultural practitioners face unique issues in their arts practice. This session will talk about what rights you have in your work and what you can do to protect them. You’ll learn about copyright, licensing, contracts and what you need to know before you sign. You’ll also learn more about Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property and how to protect language, knowledge, culture and heritage inherent in your work.
FREE Advice Clinic
After the workshop from 1-3pm, join Arts Law lawyers for free legal chats where you can ask any questions you’ve ever wanted to know about your artistic practice, the law and how to safeguard your arts business.Â
