PRACTICE 101: Traditional Media 

Join Arts Northern Rivers for a 1.5 hour interactive online workshop designed to equip participants with practical public relations and media strategies. This session will cover key aspects of engaging traditional media, crafting effective press releases, and building sustainable media relationships.

Led by Leigh McGrane of Against the Grain, this foundational workshop has been developed to support artists and arts workers based in the Northern Rivers, working in any medium and at all career stages, to up-skill in traditional media. Downloadable resources such as PR Essentials Guide - do’s and do nots!, a checklist for preparing a media campaign and a media release template will be provided.

About the Facilitator

Leigh McGrane is a Publicity and PR professional with a passion for amplifying the national Australian events, music, lifestyle, and arts sectors. Leigh is the Director of Against The Grain, a lifestyle, festival, music and foodie publicity and marketing company based in Byron Bay and Adelaide. Over the past 10+ years, Against The Grain has managed PR and media departments and events for some of the country’s biggest festivals including Bluesfest, WOMADelaide, The National Folk Festival and The Adelaide Film Festival.
