Event description

with Tucker Peck

Class meets in person at 2929 24th street and online via Zoom. Please contact Tucker to get the Zoom link: meditatewithtucker.com/contact

This weekly meetup focuses on diverse techniques of meditation, as well as the interplay between meditation and psychology. While we're not attached to any particular technique, many of the group members practice based on modern meditation manuals like The Mind Illuminated, Right Concentration, Seeing That Frees, or Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha.

Tucker is currently teaching a series of meditations that give an overview of what types exist and what the theory behind them is.

The SF Pragmatic Dharma Club has what we like to call Five Acts Plus a Finale. We'll begin with members introducing themselves, followed by a 40-minute guided meditation. After the meditation, there will be break-out groups of 3-4 people, where attendees get to know one another. The last part of the evening is a group Q&A session with the teacher. The class ends at 9, where most nights everyone is invited to join for late dinner at a Mexican restaurant down the street.

This group is hybrid, meaning that while most people will join in person, folks are invited to join via Zoom as well. We request that anyone joining by Zoom stay the full 90 minutes (in the same way that no one who comes in person ever walks out midway through!), and if possible, leaves the camera on the whole time.

Dr. Tucker Peck is a clinical psychologist and longtime teacher of dharma classes and residential retreats.

Suggested donation $15 - $30.
