PRANZ 2022 Wanaka Meet-Up

PRANZ 2022 meet-up WANAKA!   

Thursday 6 January - Sunday 9 January 2022
Tickets $140pp* 

Set in the beautiful Lake Wanaka area, this years' meet-up will take us into the Matukituki valley of Mount Aspiring National Park, where boats get carried and wifi disappears! So bring your pack, your best chat & a sense of adventure. If you're new to packrafting get yourself on a course before the meet-up. 

Accommodation is included on Friday & Saturday night, bunks available on a first come first serve basis, plus plenty of tent sites. Accessing the lodge requires a river crossing and there will be no phone signal/internet in the national park. Please ensure you are with the group for departure at 2pm on Friday to travel in convoy. 

ITINERARY  (subject to change)

THU 6 JAN

• 12pm: check-in Lake Hawea Community Centre. 
• 2pm: Lake Wanaka/Clutha river social paddle & rescue practice. 
  
• 5pm: Lake Hawea Community Centre - talks & dinner provided. 
  

FRI 7 JAN

• 8am: Hawea Wave play & skills session.
• 10am: Hawea River paddle.
• 2pm: MUST DRIVE CONVOY, no latecomers. Mt Aspiring National Park. River crossing to lodge. Dinner provided.
  

SAT 8 JAN

• 9am: West Matukituki. Walk-in, paddle, walk back to lodge.
• 6pm: dinner provided at lodge.

SUN 9 JAN

• 9am:  East Matukituki. Check-out lodge, walk-in, paddle, walk back to cars.
• NB: tough walk, half-way option for easier walk/grade 2 paddling. 

*Ticket cost covers Thu venue hire $20pp, Fri & Sat lodge $70pp, Thu, Fri & Sat dinner $50pp. Book own accommodation Thu night & Sun night if required. Pre-purchase online only, no cash sales at event.

Mandatory gear list: boat, paddle, PFD, kayaking helmet (no bike helmets), repair kit, throw-bag, cold-water paddling/swimming attire (drysuit), trail shoes to walk & paddle in, dry clothes, sleeping bag, breakfast & lunch x 3 + snacks, bag to hike with all of above. 

Vaccinations/Cancellations/Refunds. Vaccinations will be mandated for gatherings & events - we're asking for all attendees to be double-vaccinated & copies of certificates provided. If this event is cancelled, or if you cannot attend because your area goes into lockdown, your $140 will be refunded in full.
