Description

Pre-conference masterclasses - Neighbourhood Houses Conference 2026

Wednesday 16th September, 9am-12pm, Burnie Arts Centre

If you can't make it to the whole conference but would like to join us for one of the pre-conference masterclasses, we'd love to see you there!

We pleased to be presenting two powerful workshops designed to strengthen people, organisations, and communities.

Masterclass one: Be BRAVE Feel SAFE with Shawn Andrews

This First Nations-led workshop explores how cultural safety and psychological safety work together to create stronger organisations and communities. Rather than simply discussing the concepts, Shawn demonstrates the methodology in practice through curious leadership and deep listening.

A Mununjali and Migunberri man of the Yugambeh language group, Shawn is the founder of Buneen Group and the Be BRAVE Feel SAFE method.

He is a truly compelling storyteller and will challenge, engage and inspire us over the whole conference program.

Masterclass two: Social Enterprise: A Practical Model for Stronger, More Sustainable Communities with Adam Mostogl

Social enterprise combines community purpose with business sustainability to create lasting impact. In this practical and interactive workshop, Adam will explore how Neighbourhood Houses and community organisations can build resilience, generate income and create new opportunities for their communities.

Adam Mostogl is CEO of The van Diemen Project and a leader within the Social Enterprise Collective of Tasmania (SECTAS). He works with communities, organisations, schools, businesses and government to develop innovative solutions to social and economic challenges.

Morning tea and lunch are included, and masterclass registrations close on 8 September.

Check out the NHT conference information on our website for more details.

If you are a conference delegate, the masterclasses are included with your registration - please use this form to register.
