Pre-Winter Avalanche Awareness evening by Ortovox and the NZ Snow Safety Institute

Join us for our pre-winter Avalanche Awareness evening with Gideon Geerling!
Supported by Ortovox and the NZ Snow Safety Institute, Gideon is coming to help teach us to
understanding the avalanche forecast and the context of avalanches to your winter tramps/skis and climbs.
This night is perfect for trampers, climbers, skiiers and anyone who travels back-country to areas (even day trips) where an avalanche may present itself.
A focus of the evening will be learning what you don't know, and the gaps you need to fill in your knowledge base to safely travel in the backcountry in winter.
Gideon Geerling is a general outdoor and mountain bad-ass. He also loves to share his knowledge and passion for the outdoors, while also being a Professional Outdoor instructor/Guide, NZMGA Alpine Trekking Guide, NZOIA Alpine, Bush & Rock. You can find him on Instagram @g.geerling
