Precepts Study Group
The precepts are are at the heart of Buddhist practice and support the deep intention to live for the benefit of all beings. In this class, we'll study the precepts as they have been handed down to us, and also explore how they can guide us in our actual life, with all its complications and challenges.
In person at Stone Creek Zen Center
Eight Thursdays, 6:30 - 8pm
The group will be co-led by Head Priest Sessei Meg Levie, Abiding Teacher Jisho Warner, Annette JoE' Lille, and Edmée Danan.
This study group is open to all, regardless of experience.
It also is being offered in conjunction with the opportunity to prepare to formally receive the precepts through working with a teacher and sewing a rakusu, the small version of the Buddhist robe. If you have been praciticing at Stone Creek for a while and would like to explore receiving the precepts and bodhsattva vows, please contact Meg at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can find more information on the precepts here.
Suggested donation sliding scale: $100, $150, $200; no one turned away for lack of funds.
