Preparing for Harvest 2026: Planning for a Safe, Efficient and Successful Harvest

The 2026 harvest represents the culmination of 12 months or more of hard work in a year marked by high input costs and significant seasonal and market volatility. While harvest may seem as simple as moving grain from the paddock to storage, the reality is far more complex. Successful harvests rely on careful coordination of people, machinery, logistics, communication and decision-making, all while operating in an environment of changing weather conditions and high personal and business risk.

This interactive webinar is designed to help grain-growing businesses prepare for harvest through better planning, organisation and communication. Using a practical workshop approach, participants will work through key harvest planning areas and develop their own pre-harvest checklists to help minimise risk, improve efficiency and support an incident-free harvest season.

What you'll cover

Machinery readiness and maintenance planning
Staffing, contractors and stakeholder management
Risk management and contingency planning
Harvest logistics and workflow management
Grain marketing considerations
Effective communication across the harvest team
Family involvement and wellbeing during harvest
Grain handling and storage preparation
Conducting a post-harvest review for continuous improvement

A key focus of this webinar is peer-to-peer learning. Participants will have opportunities to share experiences, contribute ideas through the chat function, and engage directly with other producers during facilitated discussions and question-and-answer sessions.

What you'll take home

A practical set of pre-harvest checklists tailored to your business
A better understanding of online tools and apps that can assist with management and record keeping
Insights and ideas from other grain producers and harvest teams
Strategies to strengthen communication across staff, contractors, family members and key stakeholders
Greater confidence heading into the 2026 harvest season

Harvest templates will be provided and emailed to participants after the event.

A recording will be available to registered participants who can’t make the online session.
