Preparing for Practice
Description
Join us for an enriching and practical Preparing for Practice workshop hosted by the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia (CCAA).
Designed for counselling students approaching graduation, recent graduates, and those in the early stages of their counselling careers, this workshop is an opportunity to explore the transition from study into professional practice and consider what the next stage of your journey might look like.
Whether you are preparing to enter the workforce, exploring different career pathways, considering private practice, or simply looking for greater clarity and confidence as you take your next steps, Preparing for Practice will give you an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with others in the profession.
What to expect
The workshop will explore key considerations for counsellors as they prepare to move from study into professional practice, with opportunities to:
Explore different pathways and possibilities for your counselling career.
Develop a clearer understanding of what to consider when beginning professional practice.
Hear practical insights and experiences from counsellors working in the field.
Consider some of the professional, ethical and practical aspects of working as a counsellor.
Ask questions about the transition from student to practising counsellor.
Connect with fellow students, recent graduates and other counselling professionals.
Connect with the CCAA & Broader Counselling Community
Preparing for Practice is not just about preparing for your first job — it is also an opportunity to begin building connections within the counselling profession.
CCAA is committed to supporting counsellors throughout their professional journey, providing opportunities for connection, professional development and ongoing learning. This workshop is a chance to meet others who share your passion for counselling and begin developing your professional network.
The workshop is offered in person at Morling College for those living in the Sydney metropolitan area, online for those living interstate or in regional areas, and at satellite hubs, giving participants the opportunity to learn and connect with others on a similar journey.
If you can attend in person, we highly recommend doing so. Attending in person provides a valuable opportunity to meet other students and emerging counsellors, connect with CCAA and start getting to know others in the professional counselling community.
