Preparing for your oral examination

ANU has introduced oral exams for HDR candidates. In an oral exam, you meet your examiners via Zoom and answer questions about your work. These exams are compulsory for new starters after July, but people who are currently enrolled have the option to be examined this way too. Come along to this session to learn what is involved in doing an oral exam and how to prepare yourself. Lunch will be provided
Bio of presenter:Â Professor Inger Mewburn is the Director of Researcher Development at The Australian National University where she oversees professional development workshops and programs for all ANU researchers. Aside from creating new posts on the Thesis Whisperer blog, she writes scholarly papers and books about research education, with a special interest in post PhD employability, research communications and neurodivergence.
