Preparing for the 2022 HSC Chemistry Exam (28/3)
Event description
This interactive workshop contains brand new resources for Chemistry teachers, helping them to analyse the 2021 exam and best prepare their students for the 2022 HSC.
In this workshop, teachers will:
- leverage 2021 RAP Analyses to benefit Chemistry teaching and learning
- scrutinise the 2021 exam for emerging themes and commonplace mistakes by students
- perform a variety of Chemistry calculations
- pilot mark brand new bespoke questions and sample answers
- unpack and attempt a brand new 9-mark question
- identify strategies for cross-module questions
- collaboratively develop an exam-style question with marking criteria and exemplar answer
All teachers will walk away with a variety of resources to assist their students in their forthcoming exams.
New Accreditation
Completing Preparing for the 2022 HSC Chemistry Exam will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing standard descriptors 1.1.2, 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
Workshop Delivered by Antonia Wilkins
Antonia Wilkins is a Chemistry teacher with over 17 years experience in schools in Australia and overseas. She has taught HSC Chemistry (both new and old syllabuses) , A Level Chemistry (Cambridge International Examinations) and has been an HSC Chemistry marker. Antonia has previously been involved in developing teacher education programs for an international education body and is particularly passionate about helping teachers unpack complex concepts for their students.
