Present and Connect with Miriam Olsen
Event description
Present and Connect is a relaxed monthly gathering organised by the Graduate Research School for HDR students where you can share your ideas, get fresh perspectives and practice your presentation skills — all in a supportive environment!
This June, join us to hear from Miriam Olsen, a PhD candidate in the Sydney Music, Mind, and Body Lab at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She is also a professional violinist and has a background in music performance (BMus, MMus), neuroscience, and psychology (BSc, MSc). She is particularly interested in drawing on her interdisciplinary background to further our understanding of music performance and musicians’ health and well-being. Her current research focuses on developing a biofeedback system to assess musculoskeletal activity in violinists during practice and performance, with the aim of supporting healthier and more sustainable careers in music.
If your are interested in music, neuroscience and psychology, join us for 45 minutes of ideas, inspiration, and peer support (you will get the chance to provide feedback to Miriam on her presentation, ask questions and connect with fellow students)!
Pizza will be served after her presentation, you can bring your own cuppa/coffee and some snacks.
Note:
1) HDR Lounge requires student card access.
2) If you are interested in presenting, please contact HDR Development by emailing hdr.development@sydney.edu.au.
