Event description

Are you wondering what to do with all that fruit ripening now on your trees? Rather early isn't it?

Would you like the skills to be able to bottle your fruit to last you through the winter?

Join experienced preserver and bottler, Marion Perkins, to learn how to preserve your precious fruit - for yourself and to share with others.

Marion will guide us in how to bottle pears and apples, but you can bring whatever fruit you have ready.

In this practical workshop, under Marion's guidance, participants will have a go at all the steps in the bottling process. There will be plenty of time to ask Marion all your preserving and bottling questions. Head home with the skills and confidence to turn your produce into something you can enjoy year round, and perhaps a jar of something you've helped make.

Participants are invited to bring their produce to the session so they can get it bottled on the day. If your fruit isn't ready yet or you don't have any, no worries. Still come and PLEASE don't buy supermarket fruit to bring. Those with lots of fruit will take lots home, but those with none will still have a great time helping preserve and go home with all the skills to do it themselves in the future. Tickets are $10 (+booking fees). Limited to 12 people, so get your ticket today!

All equipment will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring preserving jars or other good size glass jars with good lids (not plastic). If you like, bring an apron and perhaps your favourite knife to use.
