Pressing Buttons introduces our sixth instalment, featuring UK born and Berlin based Blue Hour.

Luke Standing, under the alias Blue Hour, is the creator of labels Blue Hour Music and more recently with Philippa Pacho, positivesource. In his sets, Luke crafts together techno, breakbeat and trance rhythms that have a distinctive sound driven by the energy of the 90s which have earned him the right to play at some of the most prolific clubs worldwide including Berghain, fabric and KHIDI. With his labels giving light to some of the most esteemed tracks on rotation, including remixes from the likes of Hector Oaks, Pangaea and Ben Sims, Luke knows how to select tunes that will make your body move on the dancefloor. Coupled with 24 Moons’ purpose built Void soundsystem, Blue Hour will have you all rocking early into the morning.

Each event, Pressing Buttons plan on capturing and describing an emotion that one feels in their everyday life, in the hope of conveying to people that they are not alone.

An english conglomeration of 3 german words (mauer - wall, bauer - builder, traurigkeit - sadness). Mauerbauertraurigkeit (n.) is the inexplicable urge to push people away, even those you really like - as if all your social taste buds suddenly went numb, leaving you unable to distinguish cheap politeness from the taste of genuine affection.

In our experience, mauerbauertraurigkeit can surface in different ways; the distancing achieved by denying invites from close friends because you feel an underlying desire for alone time. Or, more subtly, by being rude or distant in your mannerisms so that friends end up pushing you away to protect themselves. If you notice in yourself, or friends, that these changes are occurring, it may be beneficial to speak to a family member or health professional.

The supporting local artists taking you through the journey are:

We hope to create a space in which people can fully immerse themselves in the music and lighting arrangements to thoroughly enjoy themselves, dancing care-free. It is therefore of utmost importance to us that everyone on our dance floor is both welcoming and respectful of others. That means we respect others and their dancing and understand that unwanted physical and verbal discrimination against another attendee in relation to their sexuality, race, religion, ability or appearance will not be tolerated.

Pressing Buttons would like to acknowledge that this dance event will be taking place on stolen land - the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respect to their elders past, and present. Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
