Event description

Pretty Ugly Things - Lachlan Olive

Anyone who's been around the coast's arts community for long enough would be aware of Lachlan Olive. From running 'High Seas Designs' with a few buddies in Moffat Beach, before the idea of ARI had reached the region, to designing the now iconic suite of characters for Your Mates Brewing kicking off with none other than Larry. Lachlan's work has quietly shaped the DIY culture of the Sunshine Coast for over a decade now referencing and informing its unique community of characters along the way.

LANTANA Space is proud to present 'Pretty Ugly Things', Lachlan Olive's first solo exhibition and more importantly bring Lachlan's work back to Moffat Beach once again. This collection is the culmination of two years of work and juxtaposes the good with the bad and back again creating something that celebrates the ugly and redefines what you might consider pretty through a vomit of colour and iconography. The works clearly reflect Lachlan's ongoing love and support of the Sunshine Coast's DIY culture alongside its many unique identities and sub-sects.

Join us 5pm Friday 7 July, at LANTANA Space for the opening of 'Pretty Ugly Things' by Lachlan Olive.

Drinks will be available for donation, RSVP is essential.
