Pride Creature Lab

Georges River Council is proud to support Pride Month this June. We join communities across Sydney in celebrating the theme, Connected in Colour, with this workshop.

Create a bold wearable mask or headpiece and bring your creature to life. In this one-day workshop with VOiiiD Collective, you will design and craft a colourful character using recycled and rainbow-themed materials, then explore movement and performance to embody your creation.

Through playful exercises and character exploration, you’ll learn how to move, express, and transform into your creature, ready to wear your new alter ego around the festival.

Location: Clive James Library and Service Centre, Belgrave Street, Kogarah

• Ticketed paid parking is available at Point Parking access via Derby Street.

• Kogarah train station is a 6-minute walk

Open to adults of all abilities. Please note: this event is for people aged 18 years and older.
No experience required.

About the Artist - Jade Brider

Jade Brider is a Magandjin-based performer, choreographer, visual artist, and Artistic Director of VOiiiD Collective (est. 2021). A professional performer since 2016, she creates hyper-visual multidisciplinary works grounded in collaboration, sustainability, and bold physical storytelling. Jade holds a BA(Hons) from London Contemporary Dance School. Career highlights include 6 years with Phluxus2 Dance Collective, 3 years with Yorke Dance Project, and performances for Paloma Faith, Charles Jeffrey, and The Cohan Collective. She has toured to Beijing, Mongolia, Paris, Athens, Edinburgh, and London, with presentations at the V&A Museum, Woodford Folk Festival, Horizon Festival, Melt Festival, HOTA, and Brisbane Festival. Her collaborative choreographic work Logging onto Love with director Kate Davis was presented at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (BBC). www.voiiidcollective.com.au
