Multicultural PRIDE+ Fashion Runway and Creative Showcasing 2025
The International Students PRIDE Fashion Runway & Creative Showcasing is a celebration of identity, culture, and pride, using fashion and visual art as a medium for self-expression. The event aims to bridge the gap between multicultural communities and LGBTQIA+ individuals, encouraging mutual understanding, representation, and connection.
This project responds to the isolation and underrepresentation faced by the multicultural LGBTQIA+ community. Research by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (2023) found that LGBTQIA+ youth are twice as likely to experience mental health struggles, often linked to social exclusion and discrimination. This event promotes cross-cultural understanding and helps participants build confidence, industry connections, and a sense of community.
