This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

In Association with Fremantle Press for the launch of their Queer YA anthology 'An Unexpected Party', Pride at Murdoch presents the Pride in Storytelling Panel. This event brings together storytellers, both alumni and current students and staff of WA Universities to have a conversation about the importance of LGBTIQA+ representation in storytelling, both in and out of curriculum. In a panel discussion, we will explore their work and its impact on their reading audience, and look at ways to pave the future of representation in both literature and academic spheres.

Your Host: Dr Rebecca Bennett, Pro Vice Chancellor (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion)

Your Panellists: Seth Malacari, Yohann Devezy, Prema Arasu, Madison Godfrey, and Marziya Mohammedali.

The event will begin from 5pm, with an opportunity to meet fellow academics and writers, meet the panellists and see copies of their work, with the main panel starting at 6pm and running until 7pm.

The Pride in Storytelling Panel will be hosted in Murdoch Univeristy's Boola Katitjin, and light food and drinks will be provided.

Crow Books will be attending to sell copies of the books discussed, including 'An Unexpected Party'.
