Event description

Join us and celebrate Pride Month with Brunch and a visit to the Ryan McGinley “Yearbook” exhibition currently on at SAM in Shepparton.

Here’s the details:

Sunday 30th June 2024
10.30am – 12.30pm
Elsewhere at SAM (Shepparton Art Museum), Level 1, 530 Wyndham Street, Shepparton

🍽 Join in for a coffee or brunch (provided at your own cost) followed by a tour os SAM as a group, led by GV Pride President, Deb (she/her)

What to expect:

Join a group of 10-15 other LGBTIQA+ people and allies at Elsewhere at SAM, a café within the Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) building on level one. Enjoy a beverage or some food (paid at your own cost) and meet other people. GV Pride President and event lead, Deb (she/her) will be there to ensure people feel welcomed and supported during brunch and the visit to the exhibition. People will likely talk and chat, ask each other questions and enjoy general conversation during brunch. Afterwards people will be invited to go into the gallery, within the same building, and see the exhibition.

Accessibility information:

  • SAM has accessible parking on site, near the building and concrete paths that lead up to the building. The SAM building sits alongside a busy main road and the Shepparton Lake, so there can be some outdoor noise when arriving at the venue, before heading inside. If walking, the pedestrian crossing at KFC at the north end of the lake is recommended. If driving or being dropped off, there are parks near SAM at the south end of the lake.
  • SAM has an all gender and all accessible bathroom on level one. There is an accessible entrance into the building and also a lift. The main entrance door is glass, and it rotates. The accessible entrance is next to it.
  • The Elsewhere at SAM café has inside and outside seating and is often quite busy, so noise levels will be high. SAM the gallery, is a quieter space.
  • You can view the menu for the Café here: Our Menu — Elsewhere at SAM.
  • The exhibition includes people in their most natural form, without clothing on their bodies. More about the exhibition here: Ryan McGinley: YEARBOOK – Shepparton Art Museum.
