Pride Parade Accessible Viewing Areas 2024
Event description
Living Proud’s Queer & Accessible Project (Q&A) will be operating Accessible Viewing Areas (AVA) at the 2024 PrideFEST Parade, positioned in prime locations along the parade route. The AVAs are designed to remove access barriers and ensure people with disability are able to experience the parade safely and equitably.
The location for the viewing areas will be located at the starting area of the Parade on the corner of Aberdeen and Lake St in Northbridge (near 102 Aberdeen St, Northbridge).
There will be three AVAs to suit different people:
- Auslan Viewing Area: for Auslan users, there will be a space reserved next to the stage to see the interpreter
- Seated Viewing Area; for folks who are blind or have low vision and require Audio Description, or people who cannot stand for the duration of the parade, such as people with chronic conditions
- Wheelchair Viewing Area: for people who use wheelchairs, scooters and frames.
To access the AVA, please book here. Each booking can include up to two non-disabled friends or family, plus a third place is available for people who have a companion card.
Living Proud would like to thank Pride WA, for partnering with the Q&A Project again and making the Pride Parade accessible.
Please check Living Proud socials and website for maps and further information.
