Event description

The PrimeSCI! Team is excited to welcome students from Year 10 - 12 to the Australian Synchrotron! Learn how the Australian Synchrotron combines science and technology to produce cutting edge research.

Includes a hands-on lab session plus a tour of the facility. Use specialised equipment to learn about the interaction of light and energy, nuclear physics, radioactivity and dark matter.

Synchrotron and its Applications (Year 10 - 12)
Wednesday 3 April 2024, 9:30am - 2:00pm

Interactions of Light and Matter (Year 11 - 12)
Thursday 4 April 2024, 9:30am - 2:00pm; Lab only: 11:00am - 2:00pm

Cost: $54.50 per participant for one workshop (plus $0.50 Humanitix booking fee)
$89.50 (plus $0.50 Humanitix booking fee) per participant for two lab sessions and tour (on 3 April)

Funded Places:
A limited number of fully funded places are available for participants to attend the PrimeSCI! Synchrotron Tours and Lab Sessions, who would not be able to attend without financial support. You are NOT required to complete the Registration form. Please complete the Equity Access form at https://forms.gle/5k9qyVfD1fUd... to establish your eligibility.

Please enrol your child in the age/year level appropriate sessions only. Sessions are not suitable for students from Year 9 and below.
