Prince Kuhio Film Festival - Kai Premiere
Event description
Join us for the World Premiere of "Kai", an inspiring new Native Hawaiian feature film produced by Prince Kūhiō Studios, held at Kānehili Homestead Park in Kapolei. This groundbreaking project is led by Etienne Aurelius — a homestead-raised filmmaker and the most awarded Native Hawaiian in his field. His work has been featured by Apple, Netflix, and global brands, but Kai is his most personal yet — a story rooted in our culture, our people, and our home.
The evening will feature live music, special appearances by surf legend and star of the film Kai Lenny, Landon McNamara performing his #1 reggae hit, and Alana Kahiapo, daughter of Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winning artist Kawika Kahiapo.
Please wear your aloha attire — in honor of our culture, our kūpuna, and this momentous occasion. All net proceeds will go toward building a new community center for the Kānehili Homestead Association. This isn’t just a movie premiere — it’s a celebration of Native Hawaiian excellence and the stories only we can tell.
