Therapeutic Thinking Principles in Early Years

This course is aimed at Early Years practitioners who are not already trained as a Therapeutic Thinking Tutor within their setting and will look at the principles of Therapeutic Thinking with a targeted early years focus.

The time our children spend within Early Years settings has the potential to support attachment, provide the stimulating environment that establishes children as learners and lays down the foundation of emotional intelligence.

This 1-day professional development module will focus on using a therapeutic approach within an Early Years setting. We will explore how the principles of Therapeutic Thinking align with the EYFS framework and the Development Matters agenda. We will look at how we identify those children who need differentiated targeted support through a graduated approach and considerations when analysing and planning for individual children.
