Event description
Join our fun workshop "Printed Tea Towels: The Art of Woodblock Printing"!
In this hands-on workshop, you will explore the timeless art of woodblock printing! Learn the traditional Indian technique of printing on fabric and then design and create your very own custom tea towels. While class will focus on classic woodblock printing methods, we will also discuss how to adapt this art form to print with other various everyday objects. By the end of the session you will leave with two beautifully printed tea towels - perfect for use at home or as thoughtful gifts. Additionally, there will be a quick demonstration on how to create decorative edging using scrap fabrics to add a unique touch to the tea towels, which you can try at home.
Dress for a beautiful mess! All materials will be provided.
About your instructor:
Preeti Agrawal is a passionate Austin-based watercolor artist, avid crafter and social media blogger. While she enjoys painting many subjects, she finds her passion in painting antique objects and ancient Indian Madhubani form of art.
When she is not painting, she likes to sew, craft with crepe paper and wood, or upcycle the old into the new. We are thrilled to have her at the Bee Cave Arts Foundation!
Class is located in the Bee Cave Arts gallery in the Hill Country Galleria, across from H&M and Dillard's.
