Event description

lino cutting tools

This two-day workshop, presented by Printbank Mackay will give you the basics to start your printmaking journey.

Day one (10am-3:30pm) will introduce you to linocut printing: learn how to create your design, transfer your image, correctly use cutting tools, ink your plate, and print your artwork.

Day two (10am-3:30pm) will teach you a combination of dry point etching in plastic and the simple creation of a plate made of recycled tetra-pak as well as how to ink and print in the intaglio method.

We will also provide an induction to the printmaking studio so that members can rent the space to work in, on their own time.

Printbank will supply:

  • Printmaking plates for lino, etching, and tetra-pak
  • Paper for you to produce several of each type of print
  • ink and rollers/tarlatan
