Priority One Member's Event | Climate Action Sector Workshop

Helping businesses in the Western Bay prepare for the future
Please note, this is a Priority One Members' event only

To reduce the drivers of climate change and its effects on our people and city, Tauranga’s first climate action and investment plan (Climate plan) is currently being developed by Tauranga City Council. This will be a proactive response plan to the identified drivers and projected impacts of climate change in the area and is in response to the recently released national Emission Reduction Plan (ERP) and the National Adaptation Plan (NAP).

To ensure our region’s businesses have the opportunity to inform this plan, Priority One is leading the delivery of an sector based workshop on Thursday 22nd September.

The workshop will provide a platform to better your understanding of carbon emissions and climate change, get insights into Tauranga City’s climate change status, and will provide you the opportunity to have your say on the developing Climate Plan. The workshops will cover:

    • An overview of the Tauranga Climate Plan
    • Understand key programmes and projects that are being invested in by both business and broadly, in both Mitigation and Adaptation spaces that will have impactful gains
    • Discussions and breakout sessions with attendees to understand your industries/sectors common goals, challenges, and aspirations.

A strong sustainability position is essential for our region to remain competitive. It is essential to ensuring we provide for our present generation, those who live, work, learn and play in this city, whilst also safeguarding the needs of our future generations, so we encourage you to come along to have your say.

    Light snacks and tea/coffee provided
Please register by Tuesday 20th September to secure your place.
