Private and Commercial Law Annual Conference

Event description

The annual Private and Commercial Law Conference will be hosted at The University of Western Australia Law School from 9-10 December 2024.

The aims of the conference are to provide academics with an informal and supportive environment in which to present work in progress, and to facilitate a collegial discussion of issues related to teaching and publishing in the field. We encourage early and mid-career academics and research higher degree students to consider presenting on aspects of their work relating to the broad conference theme of “Wrongs in Private and Commercial Law”.

Topics of interest include conceptions and doctrines of wrongdoing, and remedial responses to wrongdoing, arising in:

  • Equity & Trusts;
  • Contract;
  • Property;
  • Torts; and
  • Statutory and Regulatory Regimes.

Expressions of interest in presenting, along with draft titles and short (≤ 150 word) abstracts, should be submitted to the UWA PCL Research Cluster at pclconference2024@uwa.edu.au by Monday 19 August 2024. If you would like to attend the Conference, please register here. We ask for a small registration fee of AUD $75.00 for in-person attendees to contribute to catering costs — full time students and remote participants are exempt.

The conference will have a ‘blended’ format, to allow for in-person and remote presentations and attendance, but preference will be given to presenters who intend to attend in person. For related information, including access enquiries, accommodation and childcare options to support your participation, please again contact us at pclconference2024@uwa.edu.au

We look forward to welcoming you to PCL 2024!
