Join Riverina Local Land Services and Hay Plains Landcare on a 2-day bus trip exploring practices and research shaping the future of sustainable red meat production.
Event details:
Over 2 days, you will gain first-hand insight into key stages of the beef and lamb supply chain, including:
Ravensworth Agriculture, Maude
Tour a large-scale feedlot and cropping enterprise showcasing modern cattle feeding and production systems.
Hells Gate Feedlot, Hay
Visit a commercial feedlot and learn about cattle nutrition, feeding systems and livestock performance.
RivCott Cotton Gin, Carrathool
Explore cotton processing and innovative cotton by-products through composting and renewable energy initiatives
Southern Cotton Gin & Whitton Malt House
See cotton processing in action and explore a unique agritourism and value-adding destination.
Willowlee Farm, Sandigo
Explore virtual fencing and GPS cattle collars improving grazing management and productivity.
Cost:
$150 per person.

Start the day with fresh coffee and delicious breakfast at Jen’s Healthy Junk, a popular Lachlan Street food van known for great coffee, bacon‑and‑egg rolls, homemade slices, and friendly local service, perfect before we hit the road.

Departure: Hay
We’ll depart Hay at 8:00am from Local Land Services, 156 Lachlan Street, boarding the bus parked right next door to Jen’s Healthy Junk. Please arrive a few minutes early, grab a quick coffee or bite if you wish, and get settled in for the day’s tour.
