During this workshop Shani from Ecoburbia will cover some basic food gardening tips –from creating great soil, growing from seed, what to plant when and fertilising options. She will also share some great preserving tips including making jams and relishes, “canning” using the water bath method and solar drying. And finally – what about some animals for your block?

Come and see just how productive you can be at home – saving food miles, carbon emissions and your food bills!

Supported by City of South Perth, sustainability educators Shani Graham and Tim Darby will deliver over this autumn and winter series of community sustainability education workshops with a focus on water and energy conservation, household waste reduction, smart travelling, food production at home, biodiversity enhancement and other sustainability aspects.
