Hobart: Professional learning workshop: engaging students in STEM using agriculture

Discover exciting and innovative ways to engage students with STEM through agriculture.

This free one-day professional learning workshop has been developed for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) educators in Tasmanian secondary schools (year 7-10).

Participants will receive new agriculture-themed STEM content and resources that are aligned with the Australian Curriculum V9.0 and can be used to enhance existing resources. 

Representatives from Tasmania's agriculture sector will also be invited to attend the workshop to speak with educators about their study and career pathways, and explore ongoing opportunities for collaboration including classroom and field visits.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain free teaching resources, connect with leaders in the agriculture industry, and foster ongoing collaborative relationships to empower learning experiences and inspire career pathways for your students.

The workshop content has interdisciplinary cross-curricular relevance, including Geography, Food & Fibre, Design & Technology. 

The workshop will be delivered by the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) and supports goals of the Tasmanian Agricultural Education and Training Partnership (TAETP).

A free morning tea and lunch will be provided.
