Chris Warrick, GRDC Stored Grain Extension Project, covering:

  • Matching storage type to the purpose and budget – practical and economic considerations.

  • Silo and storage setup options.

  • Grain quality management with aeration.

  • Pest (weevil) ID, prevention and control.

  • How to optimise harvest logistics and capture seasonal price premiums

Kate Glastonbury / Cameron Murray, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, covering plant biosecurity and grain hygiene:

  • Awareness and preparedness of exotic and endemic plant pests.

Geoff Minchin, Local Land Services, covering drought adoption:

  • Feeding livestock and the implications of storing low quality grain.

  • Long term vs medium/short term storage options

  • Financial support for large investments- RIC loans, RAA support programs.
