Need help with alterations, mending, or following a pattern? Perhaps some assistance with inserting a zip, changing an op shop find, sprucing up a pair of jeans, or learning to darn? Maybe you just want to hone in your sewing skills in a supportive and creative environment. Well, our project classes are back for 2024!

Supporting all your creative sewing needs, our project based classes are in a small encouraging environment (maximum of 6 people) where 2 Upcycle Newcastle Team Members will support and guide you through your personal projects. Participants are able to use all our sewing machines (including semi-industrials), overlockers, cutting tables, rotary cutters etc.

We also have casual rates for $40 per session — subject to availability — please enquire.

DETAILS:

Cost $280, for 8 sessions (20 hours) per term, Thursday 5pm-7:30pm.
Can be used over the whole term (10 weeks).
Materials from Upcycle Newcastle are not included in this cost (you are welcome to purchase fabrics and haberdashery as you go).
3 Project Classes are offered - Thursday mornings (10am-12:30pm), Thursday evenings (5pm-7:30pm) or Friday mornings (10am -12:30pm) please ensure you have purchased the correct date to suit your needs.
Project Classes are best suited for the keen sewer with some experience that wants to spend some dedicated time on personal projects over several months.
Membership is not required for these classes.

Please Note: These project classes are created using circular economy principles. This means we love using many recycled and reclaimed fabrics, and haberdashery items for our sewing projects. We are deeply passionate about diverting textile waste from landfill and we do this through upcycling.
