Project Governance Appreciation Workshop for Construction Professionals

The UTS School of Architecture and Built Environment is sponsoring a free 1-day Project Governance Appreciation Workshop on Thursday 5 November from 9am to 5pm at UTS Building 6, Level 4, Room 007.
The ability to deploy effective Project Governance is an essential skill for every project and construction manager to ensure that projects deliver the intended outcomes. This face-to-face workshop will be facilitated by a seasoned executive program director John Templeman.
This interactive workshop will cover the fundamentals of Project Governance and the “why” and “how” of its implementation on projects. Topics covered include Governance models and fundamentals, Project Assurance, Governance in rapidly developing technologies, Project Controls, and Project Governance Maturity Assessments. The format will consist of theory, case studies and group tasks.
Attendance will contribute to your Continuing Professional Development and 6.5 CPD points have been assigned.

Workshop Facilitator
John Templeman BE(CIVIL) GAICD
John is a professional civil engineer with extensive experience in the project and program management of complex and significant value projects across a range of domains, including, transport infrastructure, heavy industrial, defence, water and wastewater, and mining. In his career John has worked for both the private sector and for government, with single point accountability for all aspects of project delivery from project inception to asset handover, encompassing, project development, site selection and acquisition, planning approval, design, procurement, construction, operational readiness and handover to the asset owners. He has employed rigorous project controls to manage all aspects of projects, including regular reporting into governance frameworks. In order to deliver successfully, John has led substantial multi-disciplined teams of both blue and white-collar employees. In terms of contract forms, John has developed and worked under a multitude of types including, Construct Only, Design and Construct, Alliance, Managing Contract and Early Contractor Involvement. Being a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors has afforded John the opportunity to participate on numerous Executive Steering Committees, Program Control Groups and Board sub-committees.
