R | Short Programs: Projection Art is designed to build participants’ understanding of projection art, covering mapping (including building and object mapping), installation, screen-based works, narrative work and looped video.

In this creative and technical exploration, artists will be guided through the full process—from concept development and editing to site-responsive projection and exhibition design—while expanding their technical skills in projection mapping, masking, and troubleshooting.

Led by multi-award-winning artist Yandell Walton participants will:

Draw inspiration from leading national and international new media artists and their projects
Build a cohort of artists to encourage collaboration
Be challenged to think beyond the boundaries of their current practice

The program is delivered over a five week period from 25 May 2026 as a blend of group

workshops both in-person and online, and mentoring.
