Course List
Course List
The Man in the Arena unfolds across three core courses, with an optional Prologue and Epilogue extending the narrative before and after dinner.
Prologue Add-On: “A Picture-Perfect Dream”
Smoked asparagus · whipped ricotta · edible paints
Guests begin by imagining the future they hope to create, using the asparagus as edible “paintbrushes” to compose that vision before the journey begins.
Course One: “The Road Less Traveled”
Seared scallops · sea dashi polenta · Wild Patch salad
The first step into the unknown. A dish inspired by choosing an uncertain path in pursuit of something meaningful.
Course Two: “Overcoming Adversity”
Chicken paprikash · crispy nokedli · The Challenger
The journey meets resistance. Guests are invited to confront The Challenger, an optional element designed to test their tolerance for discomfort before returning to the warmth and richness of the dish.
Course Three: “Fleeting Success”
Almond marzipan · matcha crumble · melon sprouts · sour cherry
A reflection on achievement as something temporary: a moment to be experienced, appreciated, and ultimately left behind as the journey continues.
Epilogue Add-On: “Enduring Legacy”
Dark chocolate · laurel ganache · gold leaf
The evening concludes by asking what remains after success has passed—the influence, memory, and legacy left behind.

Our Collaborators

Midnight Art Club: Centrum Kolossio
Created by artist David Biro and Midnight Art Club, Centrum Kolossio is a monumental interactive installation inspired by ancient arenas, the theatrical nature of human existence, inner conflict, and the pursuit of self-realization. The installation becomes both the physical setting for the exhibition and an architectural expression of its theme.

Larry A. Lesley: Legacy in the Land
Cleveland artist and creative director Larry A. Lesley presents work from Legacy in the Land, a series celebrating local icons whose creativity, leadership, and influence have helped shape the region. Through his artistic practice, Lesley explores legacy, identity, achievement, and the lasting imprint individuals leave on the communities around them.

Brian C. Kincaid: Thee Enologist
Brian C. Kincaid, Ohio’s first Black enologist, brings the art of winemaking to The Gallery through a series of custom wine blends exclusively for the evening. His work extends the exhibition into the glass, using wine as another medium through which guests can experience the event’s shared theme.

Chef Logan Neisel: The Man in the Arena
Chef Logan "Lone" Neisel, founder of Prologue, interprets the exhibition through The Man in the Arena, an interactive, narrative-driven dining experience. Each course explores a different stage of pursuing something meaningful—from recognizing a calling and confronting struggle to perseverance, reflection, and the legacy left behind.
About The Gallery
The Gallery is Prologue’s recurring exhibition series built around the belief that cuisine can function as an artistic medium alongside painting, sculpture, architecture, music, and design.
Each exhibition begins with a shared theme. Chefs and artists working in different disciplines are invited to interpret that idea independently, allowing guests to experience how the same source of inspiration can take radically different forms. A concept might become a dish, an installation, a painting, a piece of music, or the environment surrounding the meal.
Rather than treating dinner as an accompaniment to an exhibition, The Gallery brings each discipline into the same creative conversation. Guests move through the exhibition encountering these interpretations together, with cuisine becoming one part of a larger artistic experience.
Each exhibition introduces a new theme, new collaborators, and new ways of exploring the connections between food, art, culture, and the ideas that inspire people to create.
Gallery Theme
Our first exhibition of The Gallery explores the human drive to strive for greatness despite the possibility of failure.
At its center is the choice to enter the arena—to act rather than observe, to endure the challenges that come with creating something of value, and to consider the legacy we leave behind through the pursuit of something meaningful.
