About the Program

PropaGATE is a bold new challenge-led innovation program bringing the world’s best technologies and solutions to Western Australia.

After two months of deep industry consultation, one challenge rose to the top: wastewater treatment in breweries. Wastewater isn’t just a brewery problem—it affects entire water systems, from farms to communities and ecosystems. Many brewers are eager to improve their wastewater treatment but don’t know where to start or what technologies are available.

That’s where PropaGATE comes in. This program is on a mission to find and implement cost-effective, sustainable wastewater treatment solutions that help the brewing industry reduce its environmental impact while promoting resilience in agriculture and beyond.

4.30pm Bus* leaves at 4.30pm from Fremantle Train Station (limited seating, first come, first served basis)

7pm onwards Networking

8pm Bus* leaves at 8pm from FIPWA back to Fremantle Train Station (limited seating, first come, first served basis)

*Free Transport is offered, with the only service departing at 4.30pm from Fremantle Train Station and arriving at FIPWA. The bus will then depart from FIPWA at 8pm, and arriving back at Fremantle Train Station. Seats are limited and offered at a first come, first served basis.

The Program is funded by South-West WA Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA) as part of its Enterprise Support Program. PropaGATE’s inaugural challenge focuses on the Peel Region.
