Event description

Join Canberra Forest Alliance for a write-in to protect native forests. Together we’ll write to decision makers, including the Federal Environment Minister, demonstrating that the community demands an end to native forest logging and a transition to plantation timber.

Handwritten letters with a personal story is a powerful way to demonstrate community views and demand change. It is more likely to be registered and taken notice of than an online form letter and is more compelling due to it being a personal experience.

Writing material, example letters, tea and snacks provided. Pop in anytime throughout the event time. Kids are most welcome!

Australia’s forests are home to unique plants and animals found nowhere else in the world including the spotted-tailed quoll, swift parrot and greater glider. Despite their critical importance, native forests in our region at the NSW South Coast and near Braidwood are chopped down for wood chips, toilet paper and firewood. WA and Victoria have already ended native forest logging, it’s time for NSW and the rest of the country to follow suit and protect precious habitat.
