This course is meticulously designed to offer a comprehensive education on performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Cardiac arrest is a critical medical emergency that can be fatal without prompt medical intervention. Immediate and decisive action is required to recognise and assess a cardiac emergency, call for medical assistance, and perform CPR procedures, all of which significantly increase the chances of survival for a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally.

In this CPR course, you will acquire skills in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. This includes using an automated external defibrillator (AED), rotating first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and managing regurgitation or vomiting by the casualty.

​

Additionally, the course covers the DRSABCD principles (Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, CPR, Defibrillation) to ensure a structured approach to emergency response, as well as Choking Assess Severity.

You will learn how to convey accurate incident details when handing over the casualty to emergency services, review an incident effectively, recognise the psychological impacts on yourself and other rescuers, seek help if needed, and continuously improve personal skills and response times.
