Pride in Protest is proud to announce we are hosting a two day conference on the 25th and 26th of June 2022 - Provocations: A Queer Liberation Conference. The Saturday sessions will happen after the CARR Queer Rights protest at Town Hall, and Sunday runs all day. Provocations: A Queer Liberation Conference is a left wing queer rights conference that will discuss how we can politically organise for a better material future for LGBTQI people. Provocations will be FREE to attend and is hosted at University of Technology Sydney.

4PM - 6PM - Where to for Queer Rights in Parliament?
With the election of Albanese running on a strategy of disavowing queer rights from the Labor platform, what will the future of the fight for queer rights under Albo look like? And with the teals proposing to run in NSW state parliament, will Alex Greenwich’s proposed Equality Bill be liberation - or the pinkwashing of a Liberal government?
Join queer activists, and members of Labor and the Greens as we discuss the future.

Join queer sex workers as they discuss the connection between gendered labour, queer identity and sex work under capitalism.

Queers Educators and Students - Why The Fight Matters in Universities
Recently across EBA periods at Universities, the NTEU have been fighting to have a comprehensive transition leave demand accepted by University management. As our universities succumb to neoliberalism, what is the connection between university management wokewashing, neoliberalism, and union and students fighting for better conditions for all workers? Join students and educators as they discuss the importance of the fight.

Internationalism & The Fight around the World
At Sydney Festival this year, a boycott emerged due to the festival accepting sponsorship from the Israeli embassy. It drew out important questions being how to deal with international issues of politics in our own cultural spaces? How do fights around the world affect our queer community? In this panel, we hear from a diverse number of struggles, different in their own right, and their connection to our community in this nation.

Police and Prison Abolition
Prison and police abolition. This workshop dives into the reasons why queer liberation needs to include police and prison abolition. Workshop participants will have a chance to engage in discussion and develop ideas to enact abolition without our lives and communities. The workshop will end with letter writing for currently incarcerated queers.
Facilitated by members of the Inside Out queer prisoner solidarity network: Miranda (they/them), Libby (she/her) and Elle (she/her).
