PRS Europe Seminar: Practising Preservation
Event description
Preservation foregrounds relations with time before space, shifting familiar discourses around the nature of
architectural and design practice. Posing preservation as a practice of the present and as practise requires a
re-thinking through designing/curating/writing relations with the past and with/in the present. In doing so, what
are the implications, distractions, and potentials for practice? What and how is the value and contribution of
preservation to contemporary practice? Projecting a past and a future, what does the practice of preservation
offer in/to the present? Join us for a conversation that frames preservation in the context and situation of
“now”; and as one of practice and practising.
