PRS Europe Seminar: Practising Preservation

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Preservation foregrounds relations with time before space, shifting familiar discourses around the nature of architectural and design practice. Posing preservation as a practice of the present and as practise requires a re-thinking through designing/curating/writing relations with the past and with/in the present. In doing so, what are the implications, distractions, and potentials for practice? What and how is the value and contribution of preservation to contemporary practice? Projecting a past and a future, what does the practice of preservation offer in/to the present? Join us for a conversation that frames preservation in the context and situation of “now”; and as one of practice and practising.
