Pruning Fruit Trees (Winter)
Event description
The Canberra City Farm is delighted to offer a workshop that covers winter fruit pruning of pomes. Please arrive at 9:30 for a cuppa, meet other workshop attendees and facilitator Jonathon Banks of Pialligo Apples. We will start promptly at 10am with an overview of the workshop and general discussion of your fruit tree pruning interest. In the remainder of the workshop participants will gain knowledge of and practical experience in pruning:
- Understand fruit tree shapes and growth habits
- Understand how and when to prune fruit trees and important things to consider
break for 15 minutes
- be able to identify features of a fruit tree
- Understand the consequences of pruning
- Gain knowledge about pruning tools
- Hands on experience pruning fruit trees in the orchard
Canberra City Farm will be holding our Monthly Mingle following the workshop and Jonathon will be there with a short talk and to answer any remaining questions. All workshop participants are invited to attend the Monthly Mingle.
