Hey APS crew! It's been a minute!

For those of you who don’t know, Adrian and Jason are two junior psychiatry doctors interested in creating a dialogue in the psychedelic community in anticipation of the inevitable integration of psychedelics into mental health sphere. As you’ve probably heard, psilocybin and MDMA have recently been approved for medical treatment of treatment resistant-depression and PTSD.

Given this news, we were thinking it’d be a great idea to cover the topic of psilocybin and the research on treatment-resistant depression for the next talk! We’ll go through some of the recent landmark studies which has spurred this rescheduling, and we’ll also go through some of the subjective and experiential aspects of it too! So half quantitative and half qualitative.

These talks will be targeted more towards those of you who are still fresh to the psychedelic space or are somewhat familiar with these topics and want to know about some of the ideas from the big researchers in the space. That being said, for all of you who are already full-bottle on these topics (and likely know more than we do) feel free to come along and chime in the discussion on the research!

This talk will be on Thursday the 22nd June at UWA’s Reid library and will run from 5:30pm (with a start time of 6pm) to approximately 8pm. The talk itself will run for about 45 minutes, and then we’ll open it up to a more casual discussion afterwards.
