Psychosocial Risk at Work | What Every Employer Needs to Recognise, Prevent and Manage | Lindfield Business Roundtable April 2026
Description
Psychosocial Risk at Work
What Every Employer Needs to Recognise, Prevent and Manage
In today’s workplace, psychosocial risks are not just a people issue – they are a business, leadership and legal responsibility. In NSW, employers and PCBUs have duties under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulation to identify psychosocial hazards and eliminate or minimise risks so far as is reasonably practicable. SafeWork NSW’s approved Code of Practice: Managing psychosocial hazards at work gives practical guidance on how to meet those obligations. Common psychosocial hazards include excessive workloads, bullying, harassment, poor support, low role clarity, exposure to traumatic events, and poor change management.
This practical one-hour session is designed for business owners, employers and leaders who want to better understand the psychosocial impact of work, recognise early warning signs, and take practical steps to create a safer, healthier and more legally compliant workplace. The session highlights what employers need to know, what practical actions they can take, and how to respond before issues become injuries, complaints, claims or culture problems.
