Pub Chat, QuokkaDaily

This is a monthly pub chat. That's it. That's the whole thing.

What it is: Show up, grab a drink, pick up a conversation card from the table, and talk to whoever's sitting near you. Topics range from whatever's in the news to dating, work stress, technology, masculinity, and whatever else surfaces once people relax. Listen and learn from other people.

What it isn't: Not a networking event. Not a workshop. Not a support group. Not a pitch night. No slides, no name tags, no LinkedIn energy. No one's selling anything. But if it's beer you're giving us...

How it works:

• Arrive anytime from 6pm (the host will leave at about 8pm-ish)

• Conversation starter cards are scattered on the tables, pick one up, read it, pass it on

• Talk to whoever's there. Bring a mate, please.

• Leave whenever you want.

Who's welcome: Anyone 18+ who can hold a conversation without googling mid-sentence. You don't need to be an expert on anything. You just need to be curious.

Venue: Chloe's Room at Young & Jackson's, Swanston Street, Melbourne CBD. Historic upstairs bar, wheelchair accessible via lift.

Cost: Free. You buy your own drinks.

When: First Monday of every month, 6pm til 8ish. First session: Monday 7 September.

Rules: Respect, dignity, and human rights. Strictly, no electronic recording devices (especially no "smart glasses"), but olde fashioned pen and paper is permitted.
